Marshall County Church Destroyed by Fire

MARSHALL COUNTY, Iowa - A church in Marshall County church is destroyed from a fire Monday evening.

Investigators say the fire broke out when a smoke bomb was used to try and force an animal to leave the building.

WHO-TV reports seven fire crews spent hours putting out hot spots at the Chapel United Methodist Church near the Marshall County town of Green Mountain.

The church first opened in 1867.
