Clive Police raising money for the department's first police dog

(Clive, IA) -- The Clive Police Department's hoping to add it's first police dog, without using tax dollars. The department's raising money for a dog, training, equipment and continuing costs, p to 60-thousand dollars. The City of Clive has agreed to pay for the program once it's in place.

The department says a dog will help with drug investigations, to find lost persons, protect officers, and for public outreach.

Donations can be made to the “Clive Police Department K-9 Unit” if you have any questions contact Officer Brian Kempnich at 515-278-1312 (bkempnich@cityofclive.com).
