13th Long Term Care Center COVID-19 Outbreak is in Polk County

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa now has 13 long term care centers with COVID-19/ coronavirus outbreaks.

Five cases are reported at Mitchell Village in Mitchellville among residents and staff members, and those people are in isolation for 14 days.

Mitchell Center is the fourth long term care center in Polk County with an outbreak.

Linn County has outbreaks at three long term centers, including Heritage Special Care, which has 111 cases alone, the most of any long term center in the state.

The second highest number of COVID-10 cases at a long term care center in Iowa is 50 at Premier Estates of Toledo in Tama County, followed by Trinity Center at Luther Park in Polk County, which has 48.
