Iowa DNR Cancelling Fishing Events Over COVID-19

Iowa DNR

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has made some changes because of COVID-19 that will affect fishing in the state.

The department says it's cancelling all community stockings and family events this spring to minimize crowds in an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Trout will still be stocked at 11 locations, but the date and time will not be announced. All trout stream stockings will continue, but will be unannounced.

DNR is encouraging small fishing groups of 10 or fewer people to keep in line social distancing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Iowa's hunting and fishing regulations are not affected by the current COVID-19 health emergency in Iowa
