FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa - A kidnapping victim is safe today, found tied with zip ties in a crashed pickup after a police chase in far Northeastern Iowa.

The Fayette County Sheriff's office says 20-year-old Maxwell Liebe of Arlington was identified as the suspect in a missing person case, and was located when deputies pinged his and the victim's cell phones.

The Sheriff's office says Liebe tried to run over deputies who were putting stop sticks on the road, and after a miles-long chase was stopped, with the pickup landing on its side in the ditch.

The victim was taken to a local hospital.

Liebe faces numerous felony charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, and fleeing officers.
