The deceased gunman who killed three and injured 15 at a Northern California food festival Sunday night has been identified by authorities as Santino William Legan, according to multiple reports. A law enforcement official confirmed the name to the Associated Press on Monday. Other news outlets had reported Legan as the gunman earlier Monday. Police said it took less than a minute for officers to respond after gunfire erupted at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. "We had many, many officers in the park at the time that this occurred as we do any day during a festival, which accounts for the very, very quick response time," Gilroy Chief of Police Scot Smithee told reporters following the shooting.
