Back to work today for lawmakers at Iowa State Capitol

DES MOINES, Iowa - It's back to work today at the Iowa State Capitol Monday as Republicans and Democrats have their first day of the new session starting at 10:00 a.m.

With many Iowans looking at the new U.S. tax forms ahead of income tax day this year, we asked Governor Reynolds if the state would make any more adjustments to its tax code after changes made last year.  She says Iowa's already accounted for the federal tax changes. And, Iowa property taxes?

"I don't know if there's a hard and set plan right now, but we're always opportunities to reduce the tax burden to make our state more competitive so that we can continue to grow our economy."  Reynolds told reporters.

Governor Reynolds' Condition of the State address will lay out her goals for office in her first full term in office Tuesday morning January 15 at 10:00 a.m..

The Governor's address will be carried live on AM 1040 WHO Radio in Des Moines; AM 1430 KASI in Ames; and AM 600 WMT in Cedar Rapids.
