Iowa State unveiling MidAmerican Energy Field at stadium

AMES, Iowa-   The playing field at Iowa State University's Jack Trice Stadium is getting a new name.   MidAmerican Energy will pay 1.5 (M) million dollars, for the next 10-years for the naming rights.

Iowa State Athletic Director Jamie Pollard says the funds will help launch a student-athlete performance center at the north side of the stadium.

Pollard says the center will include a new student, and academic wellness center, a full service nutrition and recovery facility, and an expanded football complex.  He says it will also include redeveloping the north entrance of Jack Trice Stadium.

He says the project is still in the design phase, but they're expecting construction to begin next spring.

I-S-U's home opener is September 1st.  The Cyclones host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, on "MidAmerican Energy Field" at Jack Trice Stadium.
