Scared of Rats? New Study Says Mice Could Be Worse

New York City is a large place and the rats in the sewers have a notorious reputation. But a recent study of 416 mice collected in New York City apartments states that the viruses and bacteria is "more worrisome" than rats.

Dr. W. Ian Lipkin is the senior author of the two papers written about the study. He is also a professor of epidemiology at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health. He says some of the bacteria are difficult to treat with antibiotics, making the mice extremely dangerous if they bunk up where you live.

Obviously the study involved just New York mice, but this should make everyone with a mouse problem even more aware of the rodents.
