Iowa native leaving US Justice Department

Rachel Brand leaves U.S. Justice Department

A native Iowan, who is the third ranking-official at the Department of Justice is leaving her post.   Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand is resigning after just nine-months on the job.   

Brand grew up in Pella.   She worked behind Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. 

Brand was appointed to Senate-confirmed positions by both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.

Brand is reportedly taking a job in the private sector.
