Democrats and Republicans clash over Iowa education funding

The Iowa State Senate has added $14-million dollars to a $32-million dollar school funding bill that Democrats and Republicans argued in the State House.

"The number one value that this body should have, without exception is our children."  Argued Democratic Representative Bruce Hunter . "Not tax breaks for Apple."

Republicans defended their plan.

"Everything's going to be blamed on the tax credits."  Said Iowa State Republican Representative Pat Grassley.  "Folks, Iowans see through that, they know that's not the sole problem."

The House approved $32 million in school funding Wednesday, but now they'll have to take another vote on the extra $14 million dollars added by the State Senate.
