Fort Dodge, Iowa squad car burns after chase

(Fort Dodge, Iowa)  A Fort Dodge man is facing a host of charges, after leading deputies on a chase last night.

A Webster County deputy spotted vehicle, that had been reported stolen from Humbolt County, in a WalMart parking lot.  The driver led the deputy on a chase through fields, onto streets, and back through another field, until crashing in a drainage ditch east of Fort Dodge.  

The driver, 32-year-old Bradley Baumann ran from the vehicle but was caught after a foot chase with officers.  He was taken to the Webster County Jail, and has bonded out according to on line records.

During the chase, a Fort Dodge Police squad car caught fire and was destroyed.  The cause of the fire is not known.

There were no injuries.
