Sherman Hill Home Tour info; Boy Scout Popcorn Time; Iowa vs. N. Texas

Carrie McCollum with the Sherman Hill "Doors to the Past" Home Tour joined us in the studio this morning just after the 6:30 news.  Carrie is in the middle of restoring one of these fantastic homes and her home is on the tour.  There are homes that have had no restoration done, those with some restoration and some that have been magnificently refurbished.  The Tour is September 16th and 17th as well as September 23rd and 24th.  You can purchase tickets at Hoyt Sherman Place, 1501 Woodland Avenue and pick up your map there as well.  The Tour runs from 10AM-4PM.  You can hear Carrie's entire interview below...

Ross Peterson of Sound-Off joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news to chat about the upcoming Hawkeye football game with North Texas.  Ross feels that North Texas will have about the same type of play as Iowa State only not as good and that Iowa should win by a margin of about 20 points.  Pre-game is on WHO Radio at 12:30PM, game time is 2:30PM and Sound-Off will follow the game at approximately 6:30PM-10PM with Ross and Travis.

Bob Hopper with the Mid-Iowa Council Boy Scouts joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news.  It's Boy Scout Popcorn Season!  And boy, do they have a huge selection of popcorn.  Bob says, remember, you're really giving a donation to support the Boy Scouts and they are giving you some fantastic popcorn as a "thank-you".  The popcorn they sell comes from right here in Iowa from Snappy Popcorn.  They even have a military and 1st responder popcorn offer.  You can buy the popcorn and have it sent to the military or 1st responders.  If a Boy Scout does not contact you and you would like to have someone stop by, call Bob at the Mid-Iowa Council at 515-266-2135 and he will have a Scout contact you.  You can hear Bob's entire interview here...

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, we'll be talking with the folks from the Beaverdale Festival, Dan Gable will be joining us after the 8:30 news and Terry Hernandez from the Chrysalis Foundation will be in-studio as well.  Plus, it's Friday, so we'll have the Friday Morning News Quiz!

Stay cool!

Bonnie
