A body found near Birdland Marina in northeast Des Moines Friday night is that of a 13-year-old Des Moines boy.
Police and Fire were called just before 7:00 p.m. Friday on report of a body in the water in the 1900 block of Saylor Road.
Des Moines Police say criminal activity is not suspected. Detectives and the Polk County Medical Examiner's office are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the boy's death.
The child's name is being withheld so family members can be notified.
