Tim Lane and Renee Sedlacek joined us in the studio today to talk about a new event coming to Des Moines September 29th from noon til 4PM. It's called DSMove...a 20 block-long block party on University in the Drake neighborhood. There will be people to teach kids to ride a bike, music, chalk-art for kids, yoga, jump house, skateboarding, hula-hoops, food...even the World's Largest Bike will be there. Vacation is great...lots of fun...lots of memories made with old friends and new ones....but coming home is great as well! Unfortunately, my homecoming was to a refrigerator/freezer that quit while I was gone and everything in the freezer and refrigerator had to be thrown out. So my afternoon yesterday was spent doing laundry and cleaning the refrigerator/freezer and the floor and more! You don't realize how many things you get out of the refrigerator to make a meal....I finally gave up and called for pizza! You can't even get more groceries because you have nowhere to put them until the fridge/freezer is fixed!

What a beautiful morning to broadcast live from Gray's Lake! We watched the sun come up over the lake...lots of walkers and joggers on the trail around the lake...even Governor Branstad! The Hy-Vee Triathlon gets underway at Gray's Lake tomorrow moorning at 8AM with the Iron Kids Triathlon. There are several different age groups from age 6 to age 17! The pros, the Championship Triathlon and the Hy-Vee Triathlon all take place on Sunday, starting with the pro's at 6:45AM. It all happens at Gray's Lake this year...the start and the finish. And, it's all FREE to the public! Free parking on the south side of the lake. Go West off Fleur Drive on Bell, take your first right (follow the signs), that will take you back under Fleur Drive to the parking lot at Grays Lake.
