Just after the 7:30 news this morning, Brian Gongle and I were joined in the studio by Mike Kueney, Hy-Vee Store Director at E. 25th & Euclid, Jim Carney, Hy-Vee Store Director at West Lakes in West Des Moines and Tim Fjelstad, Customer Development Manager for Tyson Foods, Inc. Hy-Vee has recently gone thru extensive consumer and University testing of their Hy-Vee Kitchen chicken. And, although their chicken has always tasted great, they've done some tweeking and now have the best chicken anywhere! You can give it a try for yourself....be one of the first 4,000 fans thru the gate at tonight's Iowa Cubs game and you'll get a Hy-Vee Chicken Tub that you can redeem for an 8 piece pack of chicken for just $5.99! Also, it's Hy-Vee night at the ballpark tonight...get your free tickets from your Des Moines area Hy-Vee's and Hy-Vee Drugstores if there are any left! Brian and I had a fight over the last piece of chicken (check it out on our facebook page)!
Ruth Comer of Hy-Vee joined us in the studio just after 8:30 this morning to talk about the huge "meat giveaway" in conjunction with the Sale of Champions from the Iowa State Fair. We are in phase one of the giveaway right now...looking for nominations of area agencies or groups that provide food for the needy. Check it out at www.whoradio.com and click on the Hy-Vee logo on the right-hand side of the page. Phase two will involve your chance to win as well!
A huge "thank-you" to Brian Gongol for filling in for Van this morning. Monday morning, Dave Campbell and Craig Ruegsegger of Wood Magazine will be joining mee in the studio as Van "fill-ins". Tune in for the fun!
Remember to get your Cheryl Pannier autographed "playing card" this weekend at the Farmer's Market and then be listening on Monday morning for your card....if you hear it, you'll have 10 minutes, 40 seconds to call in and claim your $25.00 gift card to the Iowa Machine Shed Restaurant!
Have a great weekend!
