Pennie Carroll of ReMax Realty joined me in-studio this morning as my "guest Van".  Pennie had some great pointers for those of you who are looking to sell your home.  First of all, the market in Des Moines is UP!  When selling your home, the very first thing to do is to look at your "curb appeal".  People won't even bother to look at pictures of the inside if they're not attracted to the outside.  Landscaping is a must.  Paint the interior in "Killer Beige".  Get rid of all wallpaper.  Make sure the aroma when you come in the door is pleasant...not too heavy.  Make sure all the drapes are open and lights on.  No dirty or clean dishes in the sink or on the counter.  Before taking pictures of the inside of the home, turn any kids themed comforters over to the "plain" side.  Take down family pictures and get rid of any "clutter".  Hope that helps you out.  While a lot of people will search the internet for a home, once they find one they're interested in, they ask a realtor to show it to them.  If you would like Pennie's professional help, you can reach her at pennie@penniecarroll.com.
