We are asking for your help. Our special guests this morning were Trisha Barton with Valley West Mall, Deb Hurley with The Mayflower, Jeanie Smith of The Free Store and Erika Jacobson from Children & Families of Iowa. There is a big event happening tomorrow (May 4th) from 10AM-6PM and Saturday (May 5) from 8AM-5PM in the Valley West Mall Parking lot. The Mayflower truck will be parked in the SW corner of the lot to take your donations of gently used furniture, pillows, linens, pots and pans, dishes, small kitchen appliances, lamps, vacuum cleaners, etc. These items will go to The Free Store to be distributed to mothers and children who are starting over after leaving an abusive home. Children & Families of Iowa helps the women and children to get ready to start again on their own and lines them up with free items courtesy of The Free Store. If you or someone you know is in an abusive situation, call the Iowa Domestic Abuse hotline number...1-800-942-0333. Anything you can do to help is greated appreciated! The Free Store is also looking for volunteers...they can be reached at 515-282-3733, ext. 3 or at www.thefreestore.org.
