I came across a magazine with an ad for a Fruit Salad Tree...a tree that produces an orchard-full of fruits from summer to fall. It grows to 12-15 Feet and provides mouthwatering, juicy & super-sized peaches, giant purple plums, gold apricots, tangy nectarines and red plums as big as apples....only $24.99! This sparked a conversation about peach trees and whether they can survive in Iowa. We even got Lee Kline on the phone who says they may survive awhile in Iowa, but they will die! We had several calls and texts from people who say they have peach trees in protected areas and are getting peaches...not every year. Van and I thought maybe we should buy one of these trees and see if it makes it and then iif it has any fruit and then whether that fruit is any good!
