Be sure to include a readable return address. You can address the letter to "Santa, North Pole". They can be dropped in any Post Office blue box, Hy-Vee outlets or drop by the Post Office. If you have Military gifts to send, those are due by December 10th as well.

We were out at Scheels on Saturday morning for Santa Palooza! We saw Santa rappel down the roof, talked with The Nadas, and enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies while kids could write a letter to Santa and even get their faces painted!

Santa will be repelling from the roof of Scheel's down to the parking lot at 8:30AM...and that's just the beginning! Bring your camera to take pictures with Santa, Mrs. Claus and friends, including live reindeer! There will be hot cocoa and cider, free face painting, write a letter to Santa and make an ornament to take home! The Nadas and St. Francis Children's Choir will perform as well. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Marines' Toys For Tots program! It's all from 8:30 to 11:30AM this Saturday morning. Van and I will be there broadcasting live from 8AM-10AM! See you there!
Claudia Henning of the West Des Moines Youth Justice Initiative dropped by some Hy-Vee bakery cookies this morning to highlight the 10th Annual Great Cookie Walk of West Des Moines. This year it will be held at the West Des Moines Hy-Vee Stores. Right now, when you buy a special bakery fresh 12 count cookie box named "The 10th Annual Great Cookie Walk", $1.00 per box will go to the Youth Justice Initiative! The promotion runs thru December 16th.
Say "cheese"....Jason of Frisian Farms of Oskaloosa stopped by the studio with a fabulous plate of Gouda Cheese made fresh from the Farm! Mike and Jason make 9 different flavors of Gouda cheese and 4 different ages on their dairy farm by Oskaloosa. You will find them this weekend at the Indoor Farmers Market at Capital Square and the Kaleidescope Mall. You can also find them at Hy-Vee Stores. Just look for the package with the windmill that says "Frisian Farms".

The Van & Bonnie Free Chocolate Breakfast is January 24th, 5-9AM at the Hy-Vee Conference Center at 50th & Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.

The Hy-Vee Big Four Classic is coming this Saturday, December 7th, to Wells Fargo Arena. UNI takes on Iowa State at 5PM and Drake plays Iowa at 7:30PM. One ticket gets you into both games! Jim McDonough joined us by phone this morning to talk about his Holiday Grande 2013 concert to benefit Camp Courageous of Iowa.
