Jimmy Small, the new President of the Iowa Speedway joined us in the studio this morning. Jimmy has been with NASCAR for six years (right out of college) and is really excited about this new opportunity in Newton. He is impressed with the track and the employees and sees great things in the future. They are already planning some fantastic events for 2014. Jimmy is 28 years old and is raring to get started!

Acclaimed artist Jun Kaneko joined us just after the 8:30 news. Jun just completed his new public art project "Expansion" at the HubSpot and Court Avenue Pump Station along the Principal Riverwalk. Cliff Bemis who plays the part of Ezekiel in Irving Berlin's White Christmas joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8AM news. Cliff also has been in TV shows including White Collar, Law & Order SVU, One Life To Live, Dallas, Cheers and The Bob Newhart Show. "White Christmas" is now showing at the Des Moines Civic Center thru December 15th.
Kevin Vinchattle and Katie Coyle of the Iowa Egg Council joined us in the studio just after the 7:30 news this morning. It's the Holiday Season and there's a lot of baking going on and what do you need to bake???? Eggs! Katie made some wonderful recipes for us this morning that are available on the Iowa Egg Council's website... www.iowaegg.org. She made a slow cooker breakfast casserole, a brown sugar and butter pecan bread pudding and homemade egg nog!

We were out at Scheels on Saturday morning for Santa Palooza! We saw Santa rappel down the roof, talked with The Nadas, and enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies while kids could write a letter to Santa and even get their faces painted!
