We all know that President Obama will be Time Magazine’s Person of the Year. It’s locked in! But yesterday, we got to see some of the other nominees…. And amongst them is Sandra Fluke. More on that in a moment.

Now of Course I was the person of the year in 2011 when the winner was “the Protester” and at least we who protested, accomplished SOMETHING.

Even though the President will be this year’s person, what has he actually done apart from getting re-elected? Did he fix the economy? Did he create jobs? Did he cut our debt? Did he contribute to a peaceful globe? Did he even manage to pick the winner of March Madness? Nope. Not a thing. And yet, he’s locked in.

So there is a case for Sandra Fluke. Let’s look at the facts.

  • She’s a woman in her 30s who wants us to pay for her birth control
  • She made a CHOICE to go to a Catholic University and then insisted they change 2,000 years of theology to suit her needs. They refused and so she became a ‘victim’.
  • But here’s where it gets really good. This woman who lacks personal responsibility in terms of paying for her own birth control, got the Government to act and break 200 years of Constitutional protection of religious freedom and ordered – yes ORDERED - the Catholic Church to indeed pay for her birth control.
  • Catholics and indeed other religions (we are ALL Catholics went the cry) complained about the attack on their faith and so Fluke again made herself a victim and called it a war on women.
  • Women voted for the President with a ten point gap over those who voted for Romney and therefore, Sandra Fluke is directly responsible for the President’s re-election.

And so clearly, she should be the Person of the Year. Vote now and vote often!
