We are facing a fiscal crisis of biblical proportions in January, and the campaign to re-elect the President of the
NOT ONLY THAT, but even Big Bird himself (or is that herself, I’ve never been sure) has its wings in a flap over being “used” by a political campaign.
The list is endless as are the problems we face as a nation. The Obama campaign “excuse” for all of this, is that it’s a really small part of the budget. So is the shrimp on the treadmill and the towel folding robot and the study into why Chimps throw poop! They are all “drops in the ocean”, they tell you.
You kind of hope they are not watching in
China is flexing it’s military muscles, trying to intimidate its neighbors; Iran is really close to having the capability of fulfilling its promise to wipe Israel from the face of the planet and North Korea tells us it has missiles that can reach America. But it’s all OK because President Barack Obama is out there trying to save Bert and Ernie from falling into the hands of evil capitalists!
And let us not forget that the President himself has said, if you have no record to run on, you make the campaign about small things. Those who bow at his alter are apparently taking him seriously.
Actually if you dig deep enough, you might be able to find one other reason for this. Remember the stimulus? Sesame Workshop received more than $1 Million in 2010 and according to the White House itself, it created 1.47 jobs with that money. $726,000 a job!
