Don't Go Dormant

The ISU POLK County Extesnion office held a Fall Horticulture Conference yesterday. Our good friend and former co-host Susan Appleget-Hurst, owner of Applehurst & Madison County Master Gardener, gave a talk entitiled "Don't Go Dormant." It's a nice concept: there's always something to do or learn while recharging our batteries during the winter. A good suggestion: sign up for email alerts about the new issue of ISU Extension Horticulture & Home Pest News. Go to <http://www.ipm.iastate.edu/ipm/hortnews/>.  Click on the link that says "Notify me when new issues are published." (top left.)

Applehurst is open in Winterset until December 23.

Store Hours: March 1 - December 23
Tuesday - Saturday 10-6, Sunday 1-4
Open later on Covered Bridge Festival and other special events

Plants have to go dormant.

This is the final step in putting the lilies and others into the ground for the winter.
