Problems listening online?
If you're having a problem listening to WHO Radio online, we have assembled a help page here.  The page is updated frequently and represents the latest information we have on hand. We are aware that streaming does not work in all situations, but we're always striving to keep our player current and compatible with the most common computers, software and circumstances.

Our player only requires the free Flash Player plug-in for your web browser, which is often already installed.  If not, you can install the latest version of the Flash Player plug-in at:
http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

Windows, Mac and Linux machines are supported.  We recommend a machine with at least a 1 GHz processor and at least 256 MB of memory (RAM).  A sound card, which is often already installed, with speakers or headphones is also required.

We do not have the rights to stream certain programs, such as Hawkeye sports events or other University of Iowa programming that may be heard over the air.

If nothing happens when you click on LISTEN LIVE, your pop-up blocker may be preventing the player from opening.  When clicking to launch the player, you may see a notification at the top of your browser.  If using Firefox, click Options and select always allow pop-ups from this site.  The Google and Yahoo toolbar may also be blocking the popup.  To prevent this from occurring in the future, you may want to configure your browser's pop-up settings to allow whoradio.com as an exception.

Your player experience is only as good as your internet connection speed.  You will need a broadband connection (e.g. cable modem or DSL) for the best performance.  If you see a BUFFERING message, you may have a slower Internet connection that cannot sustain a smooth listening experience.  We recommend a broadband connection when viewing our on demand content, listening to our online stream and viewing our site.  If you already have a broadband connection, try closing unnecessary programs that are running at the same time.  You may also try pausing any downloads you have in progress or other applications that require a continuous internet connection.

If you are outside the United States, you may not be able to listen online.  If you are located on an international US Military Base, please fill out the form on the page to request access.  If you have done this once before, note that military bases frequently change their internet protocol, so if you were unblocked once before and are blocked now, please send the request again and we will update our settings.  It is difficult to keep up to date with these changes, so we apologize.  Sometimes businesses route their internet connection outside of the country.  This is often the case with companies who have headquarters outside the US (e.g. Honda, Royal Bank of Canada, etc.).  Unfortunately, we would not be able to allow access to you even if your office is located in the US.

If you feel you are being incorrectly blocked, please contact us.

Did you hear something on WHO that you want more information about?
Please email as much specific information as possible, along with the date and time you heard it or the program host and we'll do our best to get you to the right person.  If you contact us armed with this information, we'll have a much better chance of success in assisting you.  Please also indicate that you heard it on WHO Radio because we share facilities with other radio stations.
