Severe Weather downs trees, causes damage throughout Central Iowa

An active day of weather across Iowa ended with multiple reported tornadoes hitting several spots throughout Central Iowa.

Several Tornado Warnings were issued throughout Friday, including in Dallas, Polk, Marion, and Warren Counties. These storms produced damaging wind gusts and produced large hail as well. Some spots reported hail as large as three inches.

As of Friday evening, more than 10,000 people in the Des Moines area were without power, according to Mid-American Energy.

Pleasant Hill saw damage ranging from trees downed in front yards, power lines downed, as well as damage to houses in the area.

A reported tornado in Osceola downed power lines and trees on Friday night.

There was also a reported Tornado in Monroe, causing damage as well. Reports of damage coming in from Minden, Harlan, and several other cities.
