(Ankeny, IA) -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one man dead.
Deputies responded to reports of an SUV in a field in the 2800 block of NW 126th Avenue just northwest of Ankeny at around 2:30 this afternoon.
A preliminary investigation shows a white GMC Yukon was traveling westbound on NW 126th Avenue when it left the road, went into the south ditch, crashed through a fence, before coming to a stop in the adjacent field.
The only occupant, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other information is available at this time.
