(Douglas County, NE) -- A Douglas County deputy has been issued a criminal citation by the prosecutor's office for third degree sexual assault of a 16-year-old student, a Class 1 misdemeanor.
38-year-old Deputy Casado Moya has been a school resource officer at Elkhorn South High School for less than six months.
Moya invoked his 5th amendment right to decline a criminal interview. The Sheriff's Office says witnesses have been interviewed who have corroborated the victim's account
Moya is on administrative leave during an internal investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.
