Just in time for the Holiday Season that comes in this week with Thanksgiving, "The RiverFront’s" Skate Ribbon in "Heartland of America Park" in Downtown Omaha will officially transform to ice skating Wednesday evening.
The UNO Mavericks hockey team will lead the grand opening event at 6:30 p.m. with public skating beginning at about 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
MECA will also launch "The RiverFront’s" use of a time ticketing system, which will help visitors understand the best time to come and visit the skate ribbon with only a certain number of tickets distributed each hour.
There is no cost to utilize the Skate Ribbon, however each skater must sign a waiver form before stepping onto the ice.
Ice skate rentals are available at the Heartland of America Park skate kiosk at a cost of $5 for adults and $4 for children.
