Cass County Authorities Investigate Kidnapping

(Cass County, IA) -- The Cass County, Iowa, Sheriff's Office is investigating after a person reported being kidnapped. It happened on Saturday afternoon, at around 5 p.m. A press release says the caller described being forced by a suspect at gunpoint to drive from Lincoln, Nebraska towards Chicago on Interstate 80. The caller said the suspect then had the victim get off at exit 51, then forced another driver in a Chevy pickup to drive him further.

The suspect is described by the Cass County Sheriff as being black, with well trimmed hair, short stubble beard, 5’10 approx. 160 lbs late 20’s – 30’s, black t-shirt and blue jeans.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance if a family member from the surrounding area has not returned home. At this point the identity of the subject in the Chevy pickup is unknown. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says it is working with multiple law enforcement agencies in the investigation.
