Preliminary Charging Decision In Omaha Deputy-Involved Shooting

The investigation continues into a off duty deputy-involved shooting in Northwest Omaha.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the man who shot by the Deputy during a disturbance last Saturday morning was not armed.

At this point, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says, based on preliminary information, the shooting was justified.

The Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Daveyon Sherman was shot and seriously wounded by Deputy Kevin Clark, who was on his way to work in his personal car when he came upon the scene of a fight at 108th and West Maple Road.
