Funeral Held For Iowa Police Officer Killed In The Line Of Duty

(Algona, Iowa) -- Mourners gathered at Algona Community School this (Wednesday) morning to pay tribute to fallen police officer Kevin Cram, who was killed in the line of duty last week. Officer Cram was shot and killed while serving an arrest warrant September 20th in Algona. Cram was a 10-year law enforcement veteran who had been an officer in Algona since 2015. Cram was 33.

Algona Police Chief Bo Miller told the packed gymnasium Cram cared about a service, "He always gave," said Miller, "That's who Kevin Cram was, a great man."

Miller told the crowd Officer Cram handled calls with compassion and professionalism and took great pride in his work.

Kyle Ricke was arrested shortly after the shooting in Minnesota, and is facing a First Degree Murder charge in Cram's death.
