(Davenport, IA) -- Two of the most structurally deficient bridges in America are in Iowa. The 83 year-old Centennial Bridge, and the I-280 bridge, both linking Davenport, Iowa and Rock Island, Illinois, rank number one and two in the state in a new report. The American Road and Transportation Builder's Association says the rankings are more for awareness. They say state DOTs would close a bridge long before it posed a danger. The report says nearly 15-thousand Iowa bridges require repairs.
