Swimming Advisories Posted For 13 Iowa State Park Beaches

(Undated) -- There are a number of swimming advisories posted this weekend state park beaches, due to blue green algae and E-coli.

Swimming advisories are in effect because of blue green algae and E-coli at the following state park beaches:

Brushy Creek Beach and Lake Darling Beach

Swimming advisories are in place for blue green algae alone for Green Valley Beach

Swimming advisories are in place for the following locations due to E-coli:

Backbone Beach, Crandalls Beach, Emerson Bay, Gull Point, Lake Keomah, Lake MacBride, Lower Pine Lake Beach, Nine Eagles Beach, North Twin Lake East Beach, and Union Grove Beach

Swimming is not recommended at areas highlighted in yellow. Areas highlighted in green are okay for swimming.Photo: Iowa DNR
