(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department says a woman is safe after officers responded to reports of a possible domestic assault.

Police say officers arrived at a home in the E. 38th Court around 7am Friday after a concerned family member had reported that a woman inside the home may have been assaulted by a male, also inside the home. Investigators say the male, whose name has not yet been released, had prior arrest warrants, including one for domestic assault. The woman eventually came out of the home safely around 9am, but police were unable to establish contact with the male.

The names of those involved in the incident have not been released, and so far, no arrests have been made.
