National Study Finds Iowa the Second Most Dangerous State for Truck Drivers

(Iowa) -- A new national study finds Iowa is the second most dangerous state in the nation for semi truck drivers.

Personal injury law firm John Fitch found that 15.5% of fatal crashes in Iowa involved large trucks. Research found 76 out of 491 fatal crashes involved a large truck. Nebraska ranks at the most dangerous state for large truck drivers, with 16.1% of deadly crashes involving large trucks.

The top five most dangerous states for large truck drivers include:

  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Wyoming
  • New Mexico
