(Rock Island, IL) -- A Rock Island woman charged with concealing a death is now accused of putting her dead 10-year-old son into a trash can. Police say they found 10-year-old Zion Staples dead in the 1700 block of 20 1/2 Avenue last Wednesday, July 26th. Investigators say they believe Staples had been dead for seven months before his body was found. Last Friday's autopsy revealed his death was suspicious and unnatural. The boy's mother, 37-year-old Sushi Staples, has been arrested and charged with concealment of a death, failure to report a child's death, and obstruction of justice. She's being held on $500,000 bond and will have a preliminary hearing on August 15th.
