First Taste Of Humid Summer Hitting Iowa This Week

(Des Moines, IA) -- Many parts of Iowa are set to see their first 90 degree days of the year in this coming week.

Kristy Carter, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says the heat and humidity this week with temperatures rising into the upper 80's and low 90's in some places later on will mean stickier, more humid conditions in general.

There's a chance of afternoon thundershower activity almost every day of the week as well.

She says it's going to be pretty hit or miss so not every location will see rain everyday and some locations will stay dry all week.

She says in areas where there are pop up thundershowers, there could be some fairly heavy rain and ponding water too.
