Omaha Seeing Driest May On Record

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha is experiencing its driest start to the month of May in history. The National Weather Service says Eppley Airfield has gotten .14 inches of rain so far this month. The average for May is 4.66 inches. That's also less than the daily average of rainfall for this time of the month, which is .15 inches. The current forecast calls for less than an additional .10 inch of rain the rest of the month. In Omaha May is usually the wettest month of the year. Rainfall records date back to 1871.
