E. Coli Detected At Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, No Swimming Allowed

(Iowa City, IA) -- No swimming will be allowed at Terry Trueblood Recreation Area indefinitely due to bacteria levels.

The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department says E. Coli was detected in Sand Lake.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says swimming in waters with unsafe bacteria levels can result in illness, such as rashes or vomiting.

City officials say there's no timetable on when water quality will return to safe levels.
