Two Iowa Spots Make List of Best Places to Live in the U.S.

Quad Cities Davenport

(Undated) -- Two places in Iowa make the list of top places to live in the country according to U.S. News and World Report.

In their 2023 annual list of Best Places to Live in the U.S., Des Moines is ranked #19, and the Quad Cities at #54.

The study analyzes 150 of the most populated areas and sorts them based on value, desirability, job market, and quality of life to find the best place to live.

The Report says Des Moines' cultural events and festivals, locally owned shops and restaurants, entertainment, and trails and parks draw people of all ages to the city.

For the Quad Cities, the list says the collaboration of the area's five cities offers an experience you'd expect from a big city such as a brewery scene, casinos, and river cruises.
