(Davenport, IA) -- The Davenport Compost Facility is reopening today, closed more than a month ago by flooding from the Mississippi River.

Davenport Public Works says the Compost Facility is open again starting Monday at 2707 Railroad Street. The Scott Area Landfill will no longer accept compost drop offs.

Parts of River Drive are still detoured due to flooding but will reopen over the next week as the flooding recedes.

Updates are expected next week on the reopening of River’s Edge, the Freight House, the Farmer’s Market, and Union Station.

The Mississippi River at Davenport is expected to drop out of Major Flood stage this Wednesday.
