(Stanwood, IA) -- The City of Stanwood Fire Department has more than $7,000 in improper and unsupported disbursements, according to a report from State Auditor Rob Sand.
The audit found nearly $2,000 worth of personal purchases, more than $2,000 of improper payments to vendors, undeposited raffle ticket and T-shirt sales, and more.
City officials requested the investigation after concerns over how the department handled its fundraising account.
