Iowa Ranks 30th on National Survey of States Struggling to Fill Open Jobs

(Iowa) -- Iowa ranks near the middle of the list on a national survey of states struggling to find workers.

WalletHub conducted a survey of all 50 states and the District of Columbia and ranked Iowa 30th on the list of states struggling to fill open jobs. The study was based on the rate of job openings for the latest month compared the to rate of job openings over the last year.

The WalletHub survey shows the top five states struggling the most to fill jobs include:

  • Alaska
  • Georgia
  • West Virginia
  • Louisiana
  • Virginia

The top five states having the easiest time finding workers include:

  • New York
  • District of Columbia
  • Washington
  • California
  • Indiana
