Omaha City Crews Catch Weather Break In Pothole Fight

Omaha Public Works' crews fighting the annual late Winter/Spring battle with potholes are being helped this year by dry conditions.

"It kinda slowed the formation of potholes," Omaha Street Maintenance Engineer Austin Rowser tells KFAB Radio News. "We're still getting those cold nights, but we don't have the moisture there that turns into ice and expands and causes stress on the pavement and creates those potholes."

Rowser says they are not totally out of the woods, but crews right now are working on the backlog of pothole work.

Potholes can be reported at: Omahahotline.com or by calling the "Mayor's Hotline" at 402-444-5555.
