(Des Moines, IA) -- Pictures of smashed windshields and pock-marked vinyl siding started showing up on social media as a long line of storms ran mostly diagonally through Central Iowa Tuesday late afternoon and night.

Sixty mile an hour winds came with the storms, and large hail. There were several reports of tea cup and baseball size hail from the Osceola area, and New Virginia, south of Des Moines.

Two tornado warnings were issued for the Pleasantville area, 25 miles southeast of Des Moines, with several confirmed sightings.

The Iowa Storm Chasing Network posted this photo of the twisting white tornado against the black sky before night fell.
