(Anamosa, IA) -- After more than 20 years in business, the National Motorcycle Museum says they will close this fall.

“We have struggled for several years to cover wages and utilities partly due to low visitation,” they wrote in a social media post.

The museum houses more than 500 motorcycles, a bicycle collection, and countless pieces of memorabilia. Some of their motorcycles and much of the Parham Collection will be liquidated at auction to help cover bills. They say anyone interested in the auction can sign up for email alerts on their website.

The non-profit was founded in 1989 and is one of the only motorcycle museums in the country.

The tentative closing date is September 5.
