(Des Moines, IA) -- Foot traffic in downtown Des Moines is slowly on the rise again, but struggling to meet pre-pandemic levels.

According to data from the Greater Des Moines Partnership, September’s downtown foot traffic during the workday was 68 percent of what it was during the same time in 2019. Foot traffic this September was still 23 percent higher than in 2020, and four percent higher than in 2021.

All foot traffic including evenings and weekends in September was 75 percent of what it was right before the pandemic.
