(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reports swimming is not recommended at 10 Iowa State Parks due to high levels of bacteria. The list includes Polk County's Big Creek Beach and Harden County's Pine Lake State Park, where E. Coli is bringing down the park's water quality.

Iowa DNR is monitoring more than 90 beaches across the state. The Lake of Three Fires is the only beach closed in the state. Last week, a swimmer contracted Naegleria fowleri, a rare brain-eating amoeba, from the water.

Further information on the parks closed can be found here.
