UNI Football Player Makes School History in NFL Draft

(Undated) -- A Northern Iowa Panthers football player has made history as the first player from the school selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Trevor Penning of Clear Lake was selected with the 19th pick and will be going to New Orleans to play for the Saints.

The previous highest-drafted Panther was James Jones at number 57 in 1991.

Iowa's Tyler Linderbaum was also selected in the first round. He was taken with the 25th pick by the Baltimore Ravens.
