Man Charged With First-Degree Murder In Calhoun County Shooting

(Calhoun Co., IA) -- A man's charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting in northwest Iowa. The Iowa Department of Public Safety says Calhoun County sheriff's deputies were called to 210 S. Ontario Street in Pomeroy around 4:25 p.m. on April 9th where they found 59-year-old Anthony Hinners dead from being shot in the chest. After an investigation involving the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation 66-year-old Michael Hinners was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The circumstances surrounding the shooting haven't been determined.
